Is there a discount if I pre-pay for a number of months in advance? If so what is it?

     We have an annual payment discount. If you pay for any plan on a yearly basis you will receive two months free. About 20% off.

What payment methods are available? How many months in advance am I required to pay? Is there a setup fee?

     We currently accept all major credit cards. You may pay on a monthly basis or a yearly basis. There are no setup fees. For the first two months we require NO credit card number.

Is there a trial period or money-back guarantee?

     We have a 45 day money-back guarantee. This applies to both monthly and annual payments. The first 60 days are free of charge. The 45 day money-back guarantee applies AFTER the first 60 days.

I am not sure what kind of Domain (or Admin) Control Panel you provide me to administer my site? Can you please show me a demo of this?

     All accounts include CPanel 10+. There is a demo of this control panel here. Please note, the demo version might not include the advanced scripts which we offer. We use the latest CPanel available.

Do you have a bandwidth/transfer limit? If so, what is it and is it monthly or daily? If unlimited, is it really unlimited?

     All our hosting accounts have a monthly transfer limit. Please take a look at our hosting plans for more information. We do not offer  unlimited bandwidth because there simply is no such thing. (All traffic is limited, it is not free.)

How long will it take, from the time I submit my order, for me to have access to the site and begin developing? May I use my own domain name?

     You should be able to have access to your site and begin developing within 24 hours. Yes, you may use your own domain name. Please note that it may take some time for your domain name to propagate to our servers. This can take up to 72 hours. (Usually 48 hours or less.)

Will I have my own IP number or is it shared?

     Your IP number is shared. 9 times out of ten you simply will not need a dedicated IP number. A dedicated IP number can be given by request with justification.

How much does it cost to host multiple domain names?

     If you have more than one domain name, you can have them all point to the same website. These are known as parked domains. This means each domain you have can point to your main domain name. You may also create add-on-domains which can point to their own Sub domains. All of this is at no extra charge.

The site must absolutely be registered in my name. Do you have any problem with this? What is your policy and procedures on domain registrations and transfers?

     You retain complete ownership of any domain name you register with us. You are free to transfer your domain from and to anywhere you wish. 

How do I register a domain name? Or, how do I transfer my domain name to your servers?

     You may purchase a domain name through us here.  You can transfer a domain to us with the website where you purchased your domain name. They most likely have a "control panel" where you can edit this information. Please contact us if you need help. (Your domain name needs to point to our servers because that is where your website will be uploaded to.) ns1.hostinganddesigns.com and ns2.hostinganddesigns.com, on the IP's 72.52.163.234 and 72.52.163.235 respectively.

Is there any requirement to place anything at all on my pages, other than my own material? If so, what is it?

No, none what-so-ever.

What type of support do you offer? Email? Phone? Public? Hours? Limit? Average Response Time?

     We currently offer 24/7 customer support ticket support. 98% of the time we respond to customer support issues within 30 minutes. No, this is not simply an auto responder! We also strive to resolve any customer support issues within hours depending on the support issue. 

Out of the space provided, how much is used by the base installation of the server?

About 500kb.

What is the OS and version of the server?

     Our servers run CentOS 4.x, with a heavily optimized Apache 1.3.37 web server for maximum website efficiency. 

What are the hardware specs of the server?

     We make use of only the best possible hardware available today. Our standard server configuration would be a Dual Intel Pentium 2.8 server, with 2GB of RAM or more and dual 36GB SCSI hard disks, for added data protection. We use only leading brand names for all hardware, including Crucial, IBM, Intel and Tyan.

How many sites are currently running on the server? How many more sites do you think you will put on it before it is full? How do you decide what constitutes a full server?

     This depends. If the server is "full", then there will be a maximum of 256 accounts on one server. However this also depends on the amount of resources the accounts use on the server. Some servers have fewer accounts than others. 

Do you host adult sites?

     No, we do not host adult accounts.

Is there any way for us to set up a mailing list for announcements? If so, how many addresses are allowed per list and how many lists are allowed?

     You may use our mailing list software which comes with your Cpanel hosting manager software. You may easily import email address or have your visitors subscribe by themselves and manage their preferences etc. You may send out a maximum of 3,000  emails a week.  This will also increase your bandwidth substantially.  WE DO NOT TOLERATE SPAM. If you need to send out more, we recommend you use the FREE services of www.yourmailinglistprovider.com.

Will I have 24 hour FTP and Telnet access?

     Yes, you will have 24 hour FTP access. Telnet access is not offered as it is insecure. We offer SSH instead which is much better. 

Will I have anonymous FTP?

     Yes, you will have anonymous FTP and many other FTP options.

I noticed this package offers X number of email accounts. With these email accounts, can I send and receive email from and to them? Will I be able to use my own domain name as their SMTP server? Is there a 'catch all' account so that anything@mydomain.com will come to it?

     Yes to all of the above!

Can I setup, change, and delete the email accounts by myself or do I need to ask you to do it for me?

    Yes, you may do all this through your Cpanel software which comes with your account.

Can I change my account password at any time? Do I need your assistance to do this?

     Yes, you are free to change your password to your account at any time.

Do you provide a full, free CGI dir? Can I run CGI scripts outside of the CGI directory?

     Yes, we provide a full CGI directory for you. You may also run your CGI scripts outside of your directory. Although we recommend you run all scripts inside your CGI directory if possible for security reasons.

Is there a limit to how many scripts I can install?

No, there is no limit.

Do you provide full shell access? For example, could I tar/gzip files up, or run a perl script to edit all the files or create some pages from data, while on the server? 

     Yes, we provide full shell access but this is only per request. You must be an experienced SSH user! 

What version of Perl do you use? Does it contain a full set of modules?

     Our version of Perl is 5.8.8. This includes the full set of modules. (We also support PHP 5.2.4 and Python.)

Do you offer a stats package? If so, which one? Will I also have access to the raw log files?

     We offer many statistic programs which can be viewed in your Cpanel software. We offer Awstats, Webalizer, Analog, Latest Visitors, Bandwidth meter, Error Log and Raw Log files.

May I view your Terms Of Service?

     Of course. You may read our Terms of Service and Service Level Agreement here.

Do you support FrontPage?

     Yes we do. Please contact support to enable FrontPage extensions on your account.

I do not see a way to purchase your web designs. How does this work?     

     Once you have purchased a web hosting plan, you will receive information on how to buy our designs in your "welcome email." (Generally within 24 hours.) 

I have found about x number of hosts that seem to offer what I need at about the same price. In your opinion, what reasons are the best reasons for choosing you over the others?
